SUMMARY:68th BC Provincial Mine Rescue and First Aid Competition 2026
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating mine rescue for over 100 years\, the 68th Provincial Mine Rescue & First Aid Competition brings together mine rescue and first aid teams from across British Columbia to test their emergency response skills in exciting and realistic surface and underground scenarios. The competition plays a vital role in maintaining consistent training standards across the province and supporting mutual aid among B.C. mining operations during emergencies. \n\n\n\nOver three days\, teams compete in a series of challenging\, hands-on scenarios designed to assess technical knowledge\, teamwork\, and decision-making under pressure. The event also highlights the dedication and professionalism of mine rescue and first aid personnel while offering an educational and engaging experience for spectators of all ages. All events are free and open to the public. \n\n\n\nSchedule of Events: \n\n\n\nThursday\, May 21: BC NCS Mine Rescue Zones Competition \n\n\n\n\nFinalists from this competition compete in the provincial competition.\n\n\n\nLocation: Penticton Speedway\n\n\n\nSpectators welcome from 7AM to 4PM\n\n\n\nFree to attend\n\n\n\n\nFriday\, May 22: Provincial Mine Rescue & First Aid Competition \n\n\n\n\nUnderground Mine Rescue Team Competition\n\n\n\nLocation: Penticton Trade and Convention Centre area and parking lot and Memorial Arena\n\n\n\nSpectators welcome from 8AM to 4PM\n\n\n\nFree to attend\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, May 23: Provincial Mine Rescue & First Aid Competition \n\n\n\n\nSurface Mine Rescue & First Aid Competition\n\n\n\nLocation: Penticton Fire Hall #202 (285 Dawson Ave)\n\n\n\nSpectators welcome: 8AM to 4PM\n\n\n\nFree to attend \n\n\n\n\nSpectators are asked to please respect the integrity of the competition and refrain from speaking to competitors as they move across the competition grounds between and during the scenarios.
